These disorders can lead to persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or irritability, fatigue, isolation, negative self talk and in severe cases suicidal thoughts. In other cases individuals may experience discrete periods of highly elevated mood, engage in risky behaviors, and experience grandiose thinking that can last up to or over a week in a manic episode.
